The Golden Temple of Dambulla, also known as the Dambulla cave temple, is a Sri Lankan World Heritage Site that is situated in the middle of the country. The caves are 160 metres high and include more than 2000 square metres of Buddhist mural paintings in addition to about the same number of statues.
